Elizabeth Riddell
Founder of Indigenous Supplies
I am L’nu.
Meaning; I am Mi'kmaq located in the East Coast of Canada.
I live in a little settlement outside of Oxford, Nova Scotia.
I want to celebrate and acknowledge my culture. Our heritage and traditions were almost eradicated, but we are creative and resilient; we are emerging from our hiding places and reclaiming our identity.
It is our story; it is my story.
The Story of Indigenous Supplies
I am L'nu Indigenous Supplies was born in 2022, Located in Port Howe, Nova Scotia. Originally we started by sharing supplies with other crafters in our community. But once we discovered how difficult many people found it to get authentic Indigenous supplies they needed, we started to source items on their behalf.
There was so much demand for authentic Indigenous crafting materials. So we became a vendor at local markets to keep up with demand and to raise awareness to our culture. There has been so much appreciation for the quality of products that we provide, and now we have grown beyond our wildest expectations.
Our mission is to encourage appreciation for traditional materials and to honor our cultural traditions in new creative ways. I will stay true to who I am by offering you finished products that are Indigenous made unless otherwise specified.
One-of-a-Kind
When Elizabeth makes her Skirts, Pipes, Chokers, Shawls, Regalia, Prayer Wings, Fans, Feathers, and Jewelry, no two items she makes are ever the same.
Here's why; when you see an item that you want it is because you have connected with it. This item is yours. This item reflects you, your personality, your mood and your spirit. To have something Indigenous-made means that it is made just for you.
The respect that Elizabeth gives to you as our customer, is that the item you receive is hand-made and not mass produced. You can't buy these products from larger online retailers or from overseas, because each one of our products is one-of-a-kind, and crafted with love.
My Promise to you for your custom orders;
Your item is made by me; for you, about you, and through you.
