Q: What kinds of craft supplies can I buy from I Am L’nu?
A: We offer a wide variety of crafting supplies. Most of our supplies are either focused on being era correct or authentic materials used in our traditional jewelry, Regalia, instruments and tooling. These supplies are used throughout many cultures by many artisans and craftsmen. In addition, we offer metal findings, semi-precious stones and pendants for making jewelry, start to finish. We carry kits, where you can learn different crafts. We also carry various types of fabrics, leathers, and notions for sewing. If you don’t see what you’re looking for on our website; please inquire! Feel free to sit in the creativity chair and ponder your ideas while choosing your perfect products.

Q: How are the crafting supplies made? Do you use local suppliers?
A: We have done our best to keep authentic products sourced from affiliates throughout Turtle Island. Our seed beads and most of our glass beads originate from the Czech Republic.

  • We carry both Czech Preciosa and Permalux series and Japan; Miyuki Delica series; our highest quality beading needles are also from Japan
  • Hides are sourced as local as possible from within Canada
  • Fabrics and notions for Regalia come from various suppliers within Canada and the USA (aka Turtle Island)
  • Ribbon Skirts and all Regalia are Indigenous made by the owner, and are custom made in-house. Pre-made Regalia on display for your viewing, some items are for sale; however, some items are on display for educational purposes only, or are for private wear by the owner
  • Some of our herbs, medicines, feathers, pelts, quills, beads, bone, and shell products are harvested or created here on site, or through the Indigenous communities
Q: Do you have a store I can visit?
A: May 15st, 2024 is opening day for our studio, where you can discover our retail ready products. We are still offering curbside pick-up. We are located at 6749 Highway 321, in Nova Scotia. (a 5-minute drive from Oxford, and 10 minutes from Port Howe).

Q: If I order online, how long will it take for the items to ship?
A: We promise to process your order as quickly as possible. Retail ready items are regularly filled within 24-48 hours. Custom orders may take a little longer depending on confirmation and complexity of your item. We will provide you with status updates on your order. Please monitor your emails, so we can complete your request quickly for you!

Q: Can I request items that aren’t displayed on your site?
A: Please feel free to request any item you may be looking for. Our website lists about one eighth of the products that are available. I do my best to source products to fulfill your requirements.

Q: I have tax-exempt status - how do I shop online with you?
A: I currently offer tax exemption for customers who hold a valid status card. To protect your privacy, please reach out prior to your purchase so I can set you up in our system.

Q: What is your return policy?
A: The refund policy is simple - if you’re disappointed, the product is wrong, or if it’s damaged from shipping, please call me at 902-297-5510 and I’ll make it right! In 17 years, I’ve never had a return for a product that was sub-standard! The products I supply to you are the products you fell in love with when you purchased!

Q: What kind of custom pieces can I request from you?
A: There are no restrictions to custom orders! If you can dream it, I will create it … provided it’s within the scope of my abilities and resources. Custom repairs/restorations of any garments or accessories are my favourite! Moccasins, gauntlets, Regalia, fur outerwear, beading, or creating a custom piece just for you – that’s my passion. Please know that I refuse to copy someone’s work! Photos of something you’d like to have can be made, provided it is not exact! I respectfully honour my fellow craftsman and artisans.

Q: Do you offer volume discounts?
A: Volume discounts are available on most stock items. I do my best to keep my pricing competitive and offer quantity discounts. I Am L’nu is proud to offer free shipping and a discount standard letter mail option – see our full shipping policy HERE.

Q: What is your shipping policy and which countries do you ship to?
A: Our shipping policy is simple - I ship through Canada Post using your desired shipping option at checkout. I will ensure the protection of your product through careful packaging. If you choose standard letter-mail, please keep in mind there will be no tracking or insurance. Please note, if you choose this option, your order must be able to fit in a bubble mailer 24.5 cm long x 15.5 cm wide x 2cm thick, and weigh no more than 200 grams total.
