4 3/4" - 5 1/4" large Abalone Shell (Shell harvested in Mexico) is an essential part of Indigenous culture through Prayer, Gratitude, Self awareness, healing, and balancing ones inner self. Smudging has been long used in Prayer and the giving of Thanks to the Creator and ones surroundings. It's many purposes is included in ceremonial and cultural beliefs and Traditions.
Like all things in nature, no two are alike and will have it's own distinct character marks. This may include minor harvesting chips, or small barnacles because of the size. I do not promote or sell any other size, as to allow stock to grow and develop.

Paua Shells aka Abalone shells are almost one in the same. The major difference being the Geographical location from which they are harvested. Therefore the outer part of the shell will feel and look a little different based on it's natural Habitat. To an unknowing purchaser, the variations are so slight, one would the accept the species name as indicated. Most of the "Abalone Shell" harvesting has been greatly reduced due to the demand of this beautiful shell through the open market and through poaching. Our culture believes in the preservation of all species. Therefore I will hold to the following practices;
1) Use the proper name of the shell species in respect to the location from which it is Harvested.
2) Never purchase from a supplier who sell's anything under 85mm to ensure legal Harvesting practices.
3) Sell only the size that pertains to Ceremonial Belief's as per our Cultural Teachings.
4) Purchase from Suppliers who are willing to practice sustainable Harvesting.
